I is for Impact (The Earth is Burning) 🌍🔥
From the Brown Album (1993), Impact (The Earth is Burning) was written as a response to global ecological crises, serving as a sonic wake-up call that blends haunting melodies with relentless energy.
First played live on 5th June 1993 at an Oscillate event at the Dance Factory in Birmingham, the track quickly found its way to larger audiences. Its first Glastonbury appearance came in 1994, captivating festival-goers with its powerful message, and it returned in 1995 as part of Orbital’s legendary Pyramid Stage performance. By 2002, it was a cornerstone of their electrifying shows. A stripped-back MTV Studio performance revealed its raw intensity, and the #JohnTejada Remix later added a fresh dimension, cementing its place as a track that evolves with time but never loses its edge.
A fiery reminder that music can move the body and ignite the mind.
