Calling an EP “Devil” although it will most certainly conjure a smile on the face of any electronic music enthusiast might come as a surprise, or even cause confusion.
But let’s be fcking serious, when Boris Brejcha picked this title, he had probably no evil thoughts in mind but was rather daydreaming of one of his many shows that are known to turn any club into a diabolically hot sweat lodge due to the energetic atmosphere and the ecstatic crowd. So in the end you could argue that the title of his new EP seems long overdue.
Te name giving A-side comes as clean and to the point as we know it from Boris Brejcha. A rolling beat that never looks back but marches forward, driven by pure energy and nifty as hell.
Let the speaking devil suck you into this dark piece of High-Tech Minimal and join the ride for almost ten minutes.
Right from the start “Te Darkest Night” reveals an even groovier drive that makes it sound unstoppable. Furthermore the track turns out to be an emotional rollercoaster in the form of a roaring and intimidating fanfare that fades in and out before a catchy melody line spreads a thoughtful and intimate atmosphere. Tis B-side will defnitely make you want to go for another round… and another round…
Last but not least this “devilish” EP will end “In Te Middle Of Nowhere”. But unlike the name implies, Boris Brejcha is taking you right to his musical epicenter. Expect one of Boris’ most multifaceted tracks that prove why his career continues to skyrocket.
