Created by the AIM Independent Music Awards, this video highlights why Richie Hawtin was selected as the 2014 recipient of the prestigious AIM Outstanding Contribution to Music award. Hawtin was fittingly presented the award by longtime friend, collaborator, and Mute Records boss Daniel Miller – the label that has released Plastikman’s music for 20 years.
The AIM Awards, now in its fourth year, are voted on by a panel of judges from across the media and music industry landscape, including individuals from Radio 1, NME, The Independent and VICE. The last person to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music award was Bjork in 2013.
