Following on from his recent “Static Level” EP, Jon Gaiser returns to his home base, Minus, with the second portion of his entirely digital project. Similar to his previous output, Jon serves up two exceptionally well-crafted tracks made to adjust the traditional means of modern day techno music, and entice the listening audiences with a double dose of music going into even darker territories than before. All this while confidently maintaining that perfect punchy and steady groove which his global fan base know and love him for.
Unstable Witness brings the overall energy up a notch with a quirky tune utilizing fresh bass tones and an uphill key structure, raising the vibe just slightly above the darkness of the deepest underground. Stuttered vocals dominate the quickly placed breakdowns, providing a short but unstable feeling before things kick back into full force.
Dark Church is the murkier track of the two, which comes complete with a round submerged bassline and a crisp and concise drum arrangement. Droning sounds, smart blips and dissected samples keep the track ebbing and flowing over its seven and a half minute duration. Getting lost in a groove is what this track is all about, as the energy is relentless from the get go. It’s the perfect track when the sweat is dripping off the walls and the crowd has their eyes shut, lost in the perpetual sounds and refusing to stop moving and bouncing to the music.
