Inspired by the Hartnoll brothers’ mother and named after the medication Halcion, it became one of Orbital’s most haunting and iconic works.
Built around a reversed sample of It’s a Fine Day by Opus III, the track drifts in and out of consciousness — led by Kirsty Hawkshaw’s ghostlike vocal.
She would later step in front of the camera too, starring in the Halcyon music video, filmed in the kitchen of the Hartnoll family home.
